Until a Yank commented on these photos, it had never entered my head about the weird mix of hats we sported. Slouch, tin, beret, pile, woolen, and bandanas all come to mind instantly; no doubt there were others. Oh yes - Bare.

With 2RAR they mostly wore tin hats when in the line, for their brief but active period. 1RAR wore brown berets for gordz sake, tin hats in the line.

3RAR was definitely not a suave unit, though my last CO tried his best to make tarts of us. (McDonald the sod)
